Halloween is just around the corner, and games have been announcing special and exclusive events for their live-service games. Some games release recurring Halloween events, while others add a little twist every time. Whether they release a new Halloween update or bring back an old and popular event, players still crave a themed update for the holidays on their favorite games. Here’s our list of all the best games to play with Halloween events or updates in 2024.

Phasmophobia – The Blood Moon Rises

Event Date: October 28 to November 13

The Blood Moon Rises event brings a few exclusive rewards to Phasmophobia players, like a new trophy and the Blood Moon weather setting, which is permanently unlocked after the event. The new weather alone is enough to entice players to return!

The Halloween event modifies hunts while providing better rewards. Because of the Blood Moon weather, players will also experience new random and erratic behavior with ghosts, so Phasmophobia fans who play the game constantly will have something new to experience.

Rainbow Six Siege – Doktor’s Curse 5

Event Date: October 16 to November 6

Rainbow Six Siege is one of the best live-service games that churns out quality events. In this year’s Halloween update, they are bringing back the Doktor’s Curse event for the fifth time. The event features a completely revamped Theme Park map, turning it into the Doktor’s Castle.

The event features a new game mode to play on the new map and some limited-time Operators to use during the event. Players who have experienced the event in the past will still have something new to look forward to with new Operators joining the fray.

This edition of Doktor’s Curse introduces new Hunters and Monsters, including Deimos and Zofia as Hunters and Fenrir as Monster. Hunt down the monsters and unlock some exclusive cosmetics while you are at it.

Fortnite – Fortnitemares

Event Date: October 14 – November 2

While Fortnite might have the same Halloween title over the years, it always brings something extremely different to the event every year. In Fortnitemares 2024, a Boom Billy, a rideable chainsaw, and the return of the Horde Rush mode join the festivities.

There are plenty of unique quests that reward exclusive cosmetics like the Jack-o’-Drifter Contrail and the Great Scarecrow Glider. Play a game with Jigsaw and finish his challenges. Boost your EXP gain during the whole event by finishing the 11-long Fortnitemares chain quest and get some awesome rewards for them, too.

Dead by Daylight – Haunted by Daylight 2024

Event Date: October 17 – November 6

Dead by Daylight’s Haunted by Daylight event is another returning Halloween event in 2024. The event features much of the same as the previous events, as players go into the nightmarish Void Realm with a more visually haunting outlook on an already scary game.

Void Pumpkins will be scattered around the map, and players must stomp them to get a few buffs along with some Blood Points bonuses. Apart from Void Pumpkins, you’ll also see some Void Orbs you can collect to get more Blood Points.

These are all similar to the previous Haunted By Daylight event, except for one new addition or feature to be more accurate. Players may now gain new items and abilities by depositing Void Energy into a crafting station called a Void Well. Players gain Void Crystals, while killers get a new ability called the Captured Haunt. This brings a slight twist to the gameplay and also brings more exclusive collectibles to the event through challenges.

Apex Legends – Techno Terror Collection Event

Event Date: October 15 – November 4

The Apex Legends Techno Terror event introduces the Tricks N’ Treats Trio game mode that runs exclusively on the E-District at Night. There are new and fun features to enjoy, such as the Cyber Rev Shell Grenades, Copycat Kits, jump scares from loot bins, and, most importantly, candy.

Apart from this fun new game mode, players get a total of 24 limited-time legendary cosmetics to collect during the event, including Pathfinder’s prestige Skin, the Apex Mecha.

Don’t Starve Together – Hallowed Nights

Event Date: October 24 – November – 21 (estimated)

Don’t Starve Together has had the Hallowed Nights seasonal Halloween event since 2016, and it brings all the Halloween-themed skins, trinkets, candies, candy bags, and the Mad Scientist Lab back in 2024. With Don’t Starve Together’s encyclopedic number of cosmetics, collectors will have another chance to get all these skins they are missing and enjoy the festivities.

There are Halloween Candies to be made, and you can only get them by trading with the Pig King, as long as you wear a costume – fitting for an in-game trick-or-treat mechanic. These are all exclusive to the event, so if you haven’t experienced it before, you should definitely try it out. The Mad Scientist Lab alone brings hours of joy!
